Da mesma forma pergunto aos meus clientes se na hora de escolher uma roupa existe a preocupação de combinar sapato, blusa, cinto e o que mais compor o visual. A resposta costuma ser sim. E quando pergunto se eles pensam em combinar as roupas com eles primeiro normalmente me olham com um grande ponto de interrogação no rosto? Não? Como assim? Isto é o mesmo que colocar uma moldura de um Monet em um Picasso, ou de um Van Gogh em um Da Vince.

Se não observarmos a nós mesmos como obras de arte exclusivas, nos vestiremos em série, sem personalidade e o que é pior, sem valorizarmos nossa beleza natural.

Este artigo poderia virar livro! Mas vou focar apenas em proporções. Um quadro com imagens fortes e bem definidas “pede” uma moldura que esteja em equilíbrio com esta imagem, por isso deve ser imponente. Já uma pintura mais delicada, com traços suaves e em tons pasteis será mais valorizada com uma moldura mais discreta e elegante.

Um homem alto, forte e de musculoso não pode vestir o mesmo que um de menor estatura e porte físico moderado. Desta forma, na hora de optar por gravatas, por exemplo, a escolha não poderá ser a mesma. A estampa de um provavelmente desaparecerá ou será muito pesada no outro.

Na hora de escolher uma gravata, é preciso encontrar equilíbrio na proporção da estampa, nó, comprimento e largura sem esquecer das cores corretas! Não é à toa que há gravatas com tamanhos diferenciados de acordo com a altura/porte do homem. Descobri um site muito legal que calcula o comprimento ideal da gravata. Mas vamos além do comprimento, temos ainda o tamanho da estampa e a textura no tecido. Tudo deve estar em harmonia com você!

E ao contrário do que você pode pensar, não são todos os colarinhos e todos os nós que combinam com todos os homens! Cada um cai bem para um diferente tamanho de pescoço, formato de rosto e muito mais. E vocês achavam que comprar roupas para homem era fácil?

Da mesma forma, se pensarmos nas mulheres, as estampas devem refletir a proporção do espaço de pele e do tamanho das partes do rosto. Uma mulher – ok, esta regra vale também para os homens – com boca carnuda e olhos marcantes pode usar estampas maiores do que aquela que tem boca menor e olhos menores.

Considere seu rosto como uma tela de pintura e nariz, boca e olhos como a pintura em si. Também observe se há outros detalhes como sinais na pele ou mesmo sinais ou sardas pois tudo influencia o tipo e quanta estampa você pode usar para ter um visual em harmonia e equilíbrio.

Wow, this post could easily turn into a book! But, let me focus only on proportions and scale today. A painting with strong and bold images “needs” a frame that is in balance with that, hence stately. On the other hand, a painting that is more delicate, with softer strokes and in pastel shades will have its features enhanced if framed in a more discreet and elegant way.

A tall, strong and muscular man cannot wear the same outfit a smaller man will. So, it is only logical that when choosing ties, for example, they will choose different ones. The print that will flatter one will probably disappear or look too busy on the other.

When choosing a tie it is important to find balance in the print, knot, length and width and of course the right colors. Otherwise, there would not be different tie sizes according to men’s height and neck width. By the way, I found a very nice website that helps with that and calculates the ideal necktie length. Besides that, you should also be mindful of the print scale and texture. All should be in harmony with you!

Unlike what people may think, not all collars and tie knots look good on all men! Each will look good on a different neck size and face shape. Thought buying clothes for men was easy? big mistake!

And what about women? The same rule applies. If you think prints, they should reflect the same proportion your facial features have on your facial skin. A woman – ok this works for men too – with full lips and large eyes can wear larger prints than a woman who has delicate mouth lips and small eyes or nose.

Imagine your face is a canvas and your nose, eyes and lips the painting on it. Observe also if there are other details like moles or freckles, they play a role in how much and what kind of print you can wear to have harmony and balance in the way you look.
